Things to do in Rosemont, IL: Dinner & Drinks
Dining and Drinks: the best Rosemont, IL has to offer!
We chose Rosemont, Illinois, for the first h+h americas for a very good reason. Not only is it a short 5-minute jaunt to Chicago O’Hare International Airport, but its convention center—the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center—lies in the heart of a shopping, dining, and entertainment mecca.
We’ve outlined some fantastic places to grab a bite to eat or share a round of drinks with the new friends and business contacts you’ve made at h+h americas. A delicious meal offers the perfect opportunity to get to know new contacts even better, and thankfully Rosemont has a lot of dining options on hand.
DINNER & DRINKS
Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse
Less than a ten-minute walk from DES Convention Center, Gibson’s is one of the most highly rated restaurants in the area. Gibsons has locations all over Illinois, and even has its own USDA certification program, with its beef sourced from a select list of farms. A classic American steakhouse with surf & turf options, Gibson offers beef, chicken, and fish entrees with lots of sides. As it is so close to the convention center, we recommend making a reservation if you intend on visiting—it can get busy!
The Capital Grille
If you’re looking for a fine dining experience, you can’t go wrong with The Capital Grille. This upscale restaurant with a seasonal menu is an enticing 8-minute walk from the convention center—just head south on N. River Road and you can’t miss it. The Capital Grille’s menu is full of elegant surf & turf options, specialty cocktails, and sides for the whole table to share. Short Fuse Brewing Company
Continue a few blocks south from The Capital Grille and you’ll find the Short Fuse Brewing Company. Beer lovers, rejoice! Short Fuse Brewing Company brags one of the largest tap rooms in all of Chicago. There is also a full service kitchen, but here it’s really about the beer. Short Fuse Brewing Company specializes in high quality craft beer and has more than 20 beers on tap. Some of their styles are seasonal, but that’s part of the fun. They also give tours of their brewhouse to show aficionados how their specialty brews get made. You can find more information about their tours here.
Giordano’s
No trip to Illinois would be complete without a taste of Chicago-style, deep dish pizza. If you haven’t tried this rich, saucy treat don’t miss your chance while at h+h americas. Giordano’s is a short 5-minute cab ride from the convention center and offers both thin-crust (ie, New York style) and deep dish-style pizza. You can design your own deep dish pizza or choose from their myriad selections. And if you love it, you can even ship a frozen pizza home for a gustatory reminder of your great trip.
Adobe Gilas
Located in the Parkway Bank Park Entertainment District, Adobe Gilas boasts indoor and outdoor seating and a rotating calendar of sponsored events (view the calendar here). Adobe Gilas offers standard Mexican fare, from guacamole and loaded nachos to sizzling fajitas, classic tacos, and enchiladas. Don’t miss the margaritas available in flavors ranging from tangy to sweet to spicy, and don’t skip dessert—there’s always room for churros and fried ice cream!
Maoz
Don’t let Maoz’s location inside the Fashion Outlets of Chicago mall deter you—in fact, let it be the place you grab a quick bite to refuel on your shopping excursion! Maoz offers fantastic meal options for vegans and vegetarians in a land where the steakhouse rules supreme. Their signature dish is a classic falafel sandwich, but Maoz specializes in fresh vegetables and healthy ingredients as a welcome alternative to the standard fast food fare. From vegan shawarma to hummus bowls and fresh fruit smoothies, Maoz is perfect for healthy, on-the-go eats.
Blufish Sushi Bistro
You may think sushi isn’t the way to go in landlocked Illinois, but Blufish would prove you wrong. Located a quick 12-minute ride from the convention center, Blufish offers modern takes on traditional Japanese cuisine, with a long list of specialty sushi rolls. If raw fish isn’t your favorite, rest assured that Blufish offers both cooked and raw maki rolls, as well as standard entrees like teriyaki filet mignon and teriyaki chicken. The ambience is upscale and refined, and there’s also a great lunch menu if you’re looking for a quick, quality meal in the middle of the day.
Bub City
Bub City is another restaurant that is adjacent to the convention center, just a 3-minute car ride or a 12-minute walk away, in the Parkway Bank Park Entertainment District. A dynamic eatery, Bub City offers classic southern BBQ and a wide selection of whiskeys (approximately 125 different whiskeys, so maybe familiarize yourself with the whiskey menu before going!). Bub City is also known for their live music, so if you’re looking for an intimate setting to hash out business details, this might not be it. If, however, you’d like a night of country music, delicious drinks, and tasty BBQ, Bub City is your best bet. Check out the live music calendar here.
Freshii

Five Roses Pub
A 5-minute drive or 15-minute walk from DES Convention Center, Five Roses Pub is an Irish gastropub with dozens of beers on tap, a delicious, rotating list of cocktails, and a thoughtful, seasonally-inspired menu. The wrap-around bar, warm, amber lighting, and dark wood decor lend Five Roses Pub an Old World charm. The menu ranges from sandwiches and burgers to shepherd’s pie and bangers and mash, and brunch is available for the weekend warriors who love to get a meal in before a busy day at h+h!
Sugar Factory
Sugar Factory serves brunch, lunch, dinner and has a late-night menu, but it’s really known for its enticing sweets menu. Located in the Bank Park Entertainment District, Sugar Factory’s menu of confections include chocolate-covered everything—strawberries, pretzels, cheesecake, cookies, and more. If it can be covered in chocolate, Sugar Factory is on it. There’s a milkshake menu with specialty tooth-aching concoctions like “The Barbie” (vanilla soft serve ice cream and strawberry gelato blended with marshmallow fluff and topped with whipped cream and pink rock candy crumbles) and gourmet ice cream sandwiches. You might want to skip dessert elsewhere and just head to Sugar Factory. It’s a favorite stop for celebrities like Katy Perry, Britney Spears, and the Kardashians.
