The new h+h University presents a holistic day of education structured like a University experience. Covering five tracks that address distinct craft business communities—Brick-and-Mortar Shops, E-Commerce Sellers, Creators, Designs/Teachers, and Sewing Machine Dealers—h+h University endeavors to provide rigorous, intensive sessions that can also be mixed and matched for the ultimate interdisciplinary experience.
This new format addresses the needs of multifaceted craft businesses—the Brick-and-Mortar Shops that are also E-Commerce Sellers; the Sewing Machine Dealers that are also Brick-and-Mortar Shops; the Teachers that are also Creators. By opening up these tracks and inviting them to engage with one another, and by creating a flexible educational system that allows students to build their own curriculum, we’re inviting craft businesses and entrepreneurs to consider the various interrelated aspects of their businesses and equip themselves with insights, strategies, and new community connections to bolster their business acumen.
Let’s take a look at the morning and afternoon sessions for three h+h University tracks: Brick-and-Mortar Shops, E-Commerce Sellers, and Sewing Machine Dealers. As you review these sessions, think about how they might benefit your craft business, and remember that you can mix and match across ALL five tracks to build your best educational experience.
Brick-and-Mortar Shops
Morning Session

One of the biggest expenses of any business is your team. Naturally, you want everyone to be productive and perform at a high level. But often, that’s easier said than done. It starts by empowering your employees to do their best.
Learn three simple practices you can start to immediately lead and develop your staff, so they can excel individually in their roles and collectively as a team.
Afternoon Session

If you’ve ever looked at your sales and wondered, “I’m making money… so where is it going?” this session will finally make the mystery make sense. Independent Retail Coach Kathy Cruz shares the real $90K profit story that started with a single shift in clarity, then breaks down the common cash flow myths and hidden “profit killers” she sees in creative retail shops nationwide.
You’ll use a simple Profit Leak Analyzer worksheet to spot where money may be slipping away in your own shop, and leave with a deeper understanding of why cash flow feels tight, where to look next, and one powerful first step toward healthier, more predictable finances.
E-Commerce Sellers
Morning Session

If you sell products online, your content has one job: move someone closer to buying. In this session, you’ll learn a simple framework for creating content that builds trust, highlights your products, and drives sales without feeling spammy. We’ll cover what to post at each stage of the buyer journey, how to write stronger hooks and calls to action, and how to turn “pretty content” into content that converts.
You’ll leave with: sellable post prompts, a plug-and-play content structure, and a quick checklist you can use for every launch or promotion.
Afternoon Session

Getting new customers takes time, effort, and money. That’s why your online shop should make the most of the customers you already have by encouraging repeat purchases and building long‑term relationships.
In this masterclass, you’ll learn how to increase customer lifetime value through smart, doable strategies. We’ll cover what happens after the first sale: from thoughtful post-purchase experiences to loyalty programs, subscriptions, memberships, and improvements to your customer experience.
You’ll also get familiar with a few key retention metrics, with clear guidance on how to track and improve them using tools available on Shopify and Shopify Plus. Whether you sell physical goods, digital products, or both, you’ll leave with practical retention tactics you can start using right away.
Sewing Machine Dealers
Morning Session

This class is designed specifically for brick-and-mortar sewing machine dealers and quilt shops. You’ll learn a proven, repeatable blueprint for increasing profit on every machine sale while strengthening long-term customer relationships. Instead of relying on more foot traffic, we’ll focus on strategies that help you capture more value from the customers already walking through your doors.
Discover how to turn one-time sewing machine buyers into loyal, repeat customers through thoughtful add-on sales, education and service offerings, and an exceptional in-store experience. You’ll leave with practical tactics you can implement right away to boost revenue, improve margins, and build a thriving, relationship-driven retail business.
Afternoon Session

This workshop is designed to help you immediately boost traffic, drive sales, and re-engage your customer base.
In this results-driven session, you’ll learn how to:
- Shift your sales strategy to match the new buying cycle
- Identify hidden revenue streams inside your existing customer base
- Refresh your marketing approach to attract new machine buyers and re-engage old ones
- Create events, classes, and partnerships that keep your store top-of-mind

We’ll share real-world examples from successful retailers who have learned how to pivot, plan, and profit in changing times. This isn’t theory—it’s a playbook. Come ready to take notes, share ideas, and leave with a concrete plan to spark sales and confidence again in your store.
