Empress Palpatine is a Tudor inspired re-imagining of Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars. This costume was created as an homage to the character and the time period and is festooned with details and ‘Easter eggs’ for those who are fans of the franchise. Empress Palpatine was completed in 2022 in time for Star Wars Celebration, where it was worn to meet the actor who played Palpatine, Ian McDiarmid, and then took part in the WonderCon Cosplay Contest in 2023, winning Best in Show for its craftsmanship and accompanying performance.Photo Credit: Alexandra Lee Studios
